500cc BSA Goldstar - A FIRST IN SPEED & EXCELLENCE

Phil worked with Dave Hardman, the Goldstars owner/sponsor and a man with a passion for all things BSA, over the winter of 2013 to rebuild and make race ready this Classic Senior bike [aka Goldie].

On her first outing she had some minor issues & Phil finished 19th out of of

47 in the 2014 Classic TT Senior race.

Not bad for a first time Classic ride and within 2 years they had modified and cajoled her into becoming the first BSA Gold Star to achieve a 100mph lap record around the mountain circuit.

In the 2017 season Goldie failed in practice due to a broken crank shaft so didn't actually compete in the race, but this partnership was meant to be...

In the 2018 Classic Senior TT Phil, excellent Engineer and Rider that he is, set new records with this bike. He averaged over 100mph for the Mountain Course [4 laps] and broke the record again for a single lap speed setting it at 101.961.

He was 11th overall in the race and earned a Bronze award.

Competing against the professional riders, sponsored teams, the weather, AND a broken clutch which failed at the end of the first lap, we're very proud of Phil [and both mortified & exhilarated by his sheer determination].
